This Godello comes from French winemaker Grégory Pérez’s Mengoba project in Bierzo, northwest Spain. His viticultural philosophy combines a reverence for nature, minimal intervention and terroir-driven expressions of local varieties.

This is an excellent example of a deep, mineral-driven Godello style with a subtle oxidative character, reflecting its ageing on lees in large oak foudres.

The palate is broad and serious with layers of flavours emerging. This is more about textural richness and complexity than primary fruit and tension. It should continue to develop well in bottle.
